Local psychologist, Dr. Rachel Needle, emphasized the importance of providing children with a safe space to process such events. “It’s so unfortunate, so you need to make sure you are creating as much consistency of safety as you can and let them know this wasn’t real and remind them of that and be a safe place for them,” Needle said.
