PALM CITY, Fla. (CBS12) — A manhunt on Thursday afternoon ends with a man in custody after fighting with a state trooper then escaping, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
MCSO responded to a scene on I-95 in Palm City, to help assist the Florida Highway Patrol with an active arrest that got out of hand.

The sheriff’s office says, when they arrived a trooper reported that a suspect began physically fighting with him during an arrest stop for an open warrant. The suspect refused to comply with commands given, then fled the scene, running towards the Stuart West and Cobblestone communities.
MCSO says, a brief manhunt began where the Martin County Sheriff Office aviation, the road patrol, and K-9 unites were all dispatched. They located the suspect just outside of the Cobblestone communities where he was apprehended.
The suspect began to fight and attempt to flee again, but this time unsuccessful, deputies says. Photos show the suspect bloody in handcuffs.
He is now in custody and taken to the Martin County jail.
