Thursday, April 23

BASEBALL

Hayden Atkinson, Dixon: The freshman was 2-for-3 with two RBIs in a 4-1 win over Havelock.

Trent Leal, Dixon: The senior allowed just four hits and one earned run, walked one and struck out nine in seven innings.

Beckford Riggs, Dixon: The sophomore was 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI.

Jonathan Pittman, Jacksonville: The senior was 1-for-3 with an RBI in an 11-2 loss to South Central.

Vasco Sutton, Jacksonville: The senior was 1-for-4 with a double and run.

Lucas Bell, Liberty Christian: The senior was 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs in an 18-8 victory over Wayne Country Day.

Baedon Martin, Liberty Christian: The junior was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and allowed just three hits, four earned runs, walked three and struck out six in 5 1/3 innings.

Henry McFarling, Liberty Christian: The junior was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two steals.

Justin Carkhuff, White Oak: The freshman was 2-for-3 in a 14-1 loss in five innings to J.H. Rose.

Sophia Jones, East Duplin: The sophomore was 1-for-3 with a double and run and allowed just three hits and no runs with one walk and two strikeouts in six innings.

Ava Noble, East Duplin: The junior was 2-for-5 with a double, two runs and an RBI.

Lorena Rodriguez, East Duplin: The freshman was 2-for-4 with a run.

Karsyn Parker, East Duplin: The junior was 3-for-5 with a triple, run and RBI.

TENNIS

Ian Balog, Croatan: The senior won the Coastal 5-A/6-A Conference singles tournament, defeating West Carteret’s Beckett Wood 6-2, 1-6, 10-4 in the final. He opened with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Northside’s Arth Patel and then defeated Havelock’s Aidan Perry 6-3, 6-1.
