Wildfires continue to burn across Florida as the drought continues.
The Florida Forest Service provides a map showing all active fires in the state.
The map also shows how many acres have been affected and how much the fire has been contained.

The number of active wildfires dropped slightly April 24, but there were 134 active fires burning 25,785 acres as of 7 a.m.

As of 7 a.m. April 24, there were 134 active wildfires burning 25,786 acres across Florida.
According to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, between Jan. 1 and April 19Â in Florida:
Number of wildfires: 1,797

According to the EPA, the worst air quality in the state is in the area of Jacksonville in Northeast Florida, where the air quality is “unhealthy for sensitive groups.”
Elsewhere, despite the number of wildfires and associated smoke, the air quality is mostly good.

Burn bans in effect in 42 of Florida’s 67 counties
As of April 24, burn bans have been issued for 42 of Florida’s 67 counties.
