
Cape Coral High School proudly announces the inductees of its 2026 Athletics Hall of Fame Class, recognizing seven exceptional alumni and one legendary coach whose accomplishments, leadership, and integrity have defined Seahawk excellence.
“These inductees represent the best of Seahawk athletics—excellence, perseverance, and pride,” said Cape Coral High School Principal Ryan Jackson. “Their achievements on the field and their impact beyond it continue to inspire our students and community.”
The Cape Coral High School Athletics Hall of Fame honors graduates, coaches, and contributors who achieved athletic distinction, demonstrated outstanding character, and left a lasting legacy on the Cape Coral High School community. The Class of 2026 inductees are:
Mackenzie Romich (Buss) – Softball / Volleyball / Soccer (Class of 2016)
Three-sport standout: volleyball, soccer, and softball.
News-Press Softball Player of the Decade and All-Decade Team.
FACA All-State, multiple MVP honors, District Player of the Year; starred at Jacksonville University
McKenna Beach – Girls Basketball (Class of 2015)
Stetson University standout: among all-time leaders in points, assists, steals, and 3-pointers.
ASUN Freshman of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and All-Academic honoree.
Four-time News-Press All-Area selection; ASUN “Winner for Life” Award recipient.
Martin Robinson – Baseball / Soccer (Class of 1994)
Drafted by the New York Yankees (12th Round, 1994); played professionally through 1997.
Multi-sport athlete excelling in baseball and soccer.
Later earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy, contributing to athletic development in his community.
Nicole Rodriguez – Swimming (Class of 2018)
2018 FHSAA 200 IM State Champion and four-time U.S. National Team Member.
Three-time National Medalist and News-Press Academic Athlete of the Year finalist.
Collegiate swimmer at Northeastern; currently pursuing a PhD at Baylor University.
Spencer Boyd – Football (Class of 2010)
School record-holder: 106-yard INT return, 99-yard kickoff TD, and 31 career touchdowns.
All-State, All-Area, and FACA All-District selection; led 2009’s 10–0 district championship season.
Returned to Cape Coral as a coach, helping guide the 2024 Seahawks to another district title.
Megan Galbreath – Diving (Class of 2015)
2015 FHSAA 2A State Champion — the first in CCHS history.
2014 State Runner-Up; later Ivy League Top-8 finalist at Harvard.
Brought statewide recognition to Cape Coral’s swim and dive program.
Lauren Curtis – Tennis (Class of 2000)
Team captain and #1 singles player.
Led CCHS Girls Tennis to its first-ever LCAC and District Championships in 1999.
2000 District Runner-Up; respected leader known for sportsmanship and commitment.
Coach Chuck Insalaco – Baseball (Coach, 25 Years)
Coach Insalaco
Compiled 421 total career wins (Varsity + JV); 17 years as Varsity Head Coach.
Guided teams to three District Championships, seven LCAC titles, and a 2001 State Final Four appearance.
Developed numerous college and professional players; cornerstone of CCHS baseball for a quarter century.
Spencer Boyd, McKenna Beach, Megan Galbreath, and Martin Robinson will be honored on October 30th during the last home football game of the season versus Gateway High School. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Lauren Curtis, Chuck Insalaco, Nicole Rodriguez, and Mackenzie Romich will be honored at Cape Coral High School’s December 12, 2025, home basketball game.
