ONSLOW COUNTY, NC — A Jacksonville man, 47-year-old Johnathon Witte, died following a paraglider crash on Sunday in Maple Hill.
Deputies with the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office reported being notified of the incident around 5:15 p.m. on Southwest Plantation Blvd. The paraglider was discovered in the trees, while Witte had fallen to the ground, according to a spokesperson. Witte was transported to Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
