GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Friday for the new HCA Florida Gainesville Hospital, which will open next month.
Officials say the state-of-the-art facility will provide full-service medical and surgical care.
The hospital is located at 4090 Southwest 41st Boulevard, just off the Archer Road exit on I-75. The $231 million hospital officially opens on May 5.

“As we look to why people are moving to Florida, why people are moving to central Florida, why we want to raise our kids here, it’s because of exceptional resources like this; exceptional commitment between the business community and the physicians that provide next-level care that’s right in everybody’s backyard,” said Gabe Bullaro, CEO of HCA Florida North Florida Hospital.
A free community celebration and open house will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. The event will feature live music, free food, and tours.
