If you’re going to listen to one thing we tell you, let it be this…you NEED to try this dining spot when you’re in Disney World!
Homecomin’ Meal!
We recently went to Disney Springs to dine at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’! When we tell you we’ve been obsessed with this table service restaurant for years, we mean it. It offers southern comfort food and Florida-inspired cuisine. We’d go here to eat the same thing over and over again, but the restaurant recently debuted some new menu options. Nothing was going to hold us back from trying them out!
Like we said, we’ve been to this restaurant before, and we aren’t exaggerating when we say this place is as close to perfect as you can get! You’ll find the restaurant in the Landing section of Disney Springs. There is seating located indoors and outdoors, as well as an open-air patio.
Homecomin’
The menu is filled with so many delicious options, but we were on a mission for the three new items. The first thing we tried was the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp for $18. It’s tossed in their house-made hot honey and served over lightly dressed greens with a remoulade dipping sauce.
Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp
The shrimp are very, very delicious. They’re very thick pieces of shrimp that are juicy on the inside. They didn’t taste overcooked or rubbery, which was great — overall, very easy to eat. The bacon on the outside has crispy parts, but it’s not crunchy (if you get what we’re saying). If you’re a bacon fan, they wrap these pieces of shrimp a couple of times! There’s a little bit of heat at the end; it’s not outrageous, but it does linger. There’s also a good sweetness to it.
These are amazing!
Interestingly, a lot of things at homecoming have that little bit of kick, which we really like. If you don’t like having a little bit of a kick, you honestly won’t mind it here. The sauce is very good and very creamy! It does cool down some of the spice.
Try this!
Overall, it’s very enjoyable. You get six pieces, which we think is a decent size, super easy to share, and they’re big pieces. Next up, we had the Braised Beef Sandwich for $24. It was made with slow-cooked pot roast topped with roasted red peppers, melted Swiss, horseradish cream sauce, and a lightly dressed arugula salad, and served on a fresh Cuban roll.
Braised Beef Sandwich
Another thing to add to the delicious options at this restaurant! The bread was nice, soft, and super easy to grab — and it held everything in (which is impossible with sandwiches). The braised beef is soft and moist with bits of crispy edges; it was amazing. There were layers of cheese that were being pulled off with every bite, which just added to the delicious taste experience. Then there was the sauce, which had a slight sweetness to it, and it was perfectly creamy. The cooked peppers were also delightful! They were soft and added a sharp flavor. The argula wasn’t amazing, but it does add a crunchiness element that we can see people enjoying.
Here’s our meal!
We couldn’t pass up on adding the Sweet Potato Mash to our sandwich for an $1 upgrade. This dish tastes as delicious as it looks! It wasn’t too smooth, but it also wasn’t too chunky. We were loving the brown sugar flavor — it wasn’t overly sweet when it mixed with the marshmallows on top.
Sweet Potato Mash
The marshmallows were toasted, which gave them a very subtle crunch while keeping the dish warm. This tasted like Thanksgiving! When it comes to side dishes, there are award-winning grits you can buy here, and we still might have that at our top spot. However, these were great!
This was great!
Please check this place out. — we know you need to eat here at some point! The environment is fun and lively, and the food is phenomenal. We gotta admit, the three new items blew us away, but we weren’t expecting anything less. Be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney food reviews and more.
