Williams, a maestro at blocking kicks on special teams, is a Jaguars-type pick in that he falls under the “intangibly rich” bucket without carrying any eye-popping traits. “I think there’s always a spot in a defense for someone who’s going to be high effort, high motor, physical and that’s really what I try to hang my hat on,” he said on his media zoom call after hearing his name called. Whether it’s because they hadn’t yet selected a EDGE defender or not, Jacksonville traded up five spots to make sure they got their guy.

He’s a natural knee bender, using his leverage to blow up blocks and dart into gaps to disrupt play development in the run game.
