ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Karsen Henderlong scored both goals as the Tampa Bay Rowdies took a 2-0 victory against Sarasota Paradise in Group 7 of the 2026 Prinx Tires USL Cup on Saturday night at Al Lang Stadium to continue their strong start to the current campaign.

The Rowdies had the better of the early exchanges and took the lead just past the half-hour mark when Henderlong was in the right place to capitalize after Lewis Hilton’s long-range shot was parried by Sarasota goalkeeper Alex Sutton. Tampa Bay carried its advantage to the halftime break before taking control of the second half as Henderlong doubled his tally shortly before the hour-mark.

Mattheus Oliveira set up the opportunity, cutting a cross back to the top of the six-yard area from the left where the former League One standout put home a first-time finish. Sutton made some good saves to keep Sarasota in the game in the final 15 minutes, denying both MD Myers and Hilton’s efforts and turning a shot from Russell Cicerone onto the crossbar, but the visitors were unable to find an answer at the other end as they were held to only three shots after the halftime break.

MIAMI FC 1, SPORTING CLUB JACKSONVILLE 0: Arney Rocha scored the only goal as Miami FC took victory against Sporting Club Jacksonville to open the 2026 Prinx Tires USL Cup on Saturday night at Hodges Stadium.

Miami took the lead on its first shot of the match in the 10th minute as Curaçao international Jürgen Locadia was played in behind the Jacksonville back line and broke onto the ball before laying a pass across to Arney Rocha for a simple finish to the left corner.

Locadia had a chance to add to Miami’s lead just past the hour-mark with a long-range effort that was denied by Jacksonville’s Christian Olivares, while the hosts went close through a header from Jordan Rossiter off a corner kick that rang the right post, but Miami saw out the result for its second road win against in Florida rival this season.
