MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – On Sunday afternoon, the Miami University softball team (35-15, 16-8 MAC) took down Central Michigan University (23-20, 14-9 MAC) in an 8-0 shutout. Presley Hosick pitched the complete game shutout, allowing only one hit and two walks while striking out four.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Miami kicked off scoring first in the opening inning with a two RBI home run from Danitza Hernandez.
The RedHawks added to their lead in the second with a home run from Bailey Manos with two on base, making it a 5-0 game.
In the third, the Red and White furthered their lead to 6-0 with an RBI double from Evey Dieudonne.
Hernandez followed with a two RBI double of her own in the fourth inning, giving the RedHawks an 8-0 lead, ending the game after the fifth inning.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks head to Dayton, Ohio, on Tuesday, April 28, to take on the University of Dayton. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
