JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after a multi-vehicle crash in the Settlers Landing area of Jacksonville’s Westside Sunday afternoon.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the victim, a man in his mid-20s driving a Toyota Camry, had been traveling southbound on Shindler Drive at approximately 2:40 p.m. When an SUV ahead of him stopped on the road waiting to turn left onto Huntington Woods Drive, JSO said the man entered oncoming traffic on the two-lane road and continued forward as the SUV began turning. In the process, the SUV hit the back of the Camry. The man’s car slid off the roadway, rolled, and collided with another southbound SUV.
The man was ejected from the Camry and pronounced dead at the scene, JSO reported, declaring it the 64th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
