Jacksonville High School was placed on lockdown for approximately 30 minutes Monday morning after a person was reported to have jumped the fence behind the school.
A nearby resident saw what they believed to be someone jumping the fence with a gun, said Cheesa Williams, a spokeswoman for the Jacksonville-North Pulaski School District.
The person actually was a student skipping school, Williams said. He was searched and did not have a gun on him, nor was there any other threat identified from a search of the campus, according to Williams.
