The Australian-inspired restaurant chain’s Jax Beach location at 3760 South 3rd St. has closed for good.
JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Outback Steakhouse has permanently closed its Jacksonville Beach restaurant, the location’s Facebook page states.
The Australian-inspired restaurant chain’s Jax Beach location at 3760 South 3rd St. has closed. At this time, it is unknown the reason for the closure.
In February 2024, the parent company of Outback Steakhouse, Bloomin’ Brands, announced the closure of dozens of “underperforming” locations across the country.
The company announced the closure of 41 restaurants, “mostly” Outback Steakhouse locations, along with a handful of others across the brands it owns, including Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar.
CEO David Deno said on an earnings call in February 2024 that the 41 shuttered locations involved older leases from the 1990s and 2000s. He added that the decision to close the restaurants considered a variety of factors, including sales, traffic and the investment that would’ve been needed to improve the restaurants.
Bloomin Brands at the time did not release a list of the restaurants permanently closing.
