TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – A USF student has started a petition pushing for more safety at an off-campus student housing complex in Tampa where two students lived before their deaths.
The remains of 27-year-old Zamil Limon were found on the Howard Franklin Bridge on Friday. Nahida Bristy, 27, is still missing. Remains found over the weekend have yet to be identified.
Hisham Abugharbieh, 26, was arrested and now faces two counts of first-degree murder. Limon and Abugharbieh were roommates at the housing complex.

The petition raises questions about how complaints were handled before the tragedy.
“We need to move forward and we need to move forward with accountability in mind,” a student said. “We need to move forward with resolve over the issues that had occurred. Our greatest strength is to realize when or how an issue occurred and to be able to take the correct steps to be able to move forward.”
The housing complex has not responded to a request for comment on the petition.
Abugharbieh remains behind bars on no bond. A vigil will be held for the students tomorrow.
