A Florida man was arrested Saturday and charged with vehicular homicide in connection with a 2022 two-vehicle crash in Leesburg that killed a North Carolina man, police said.The crash happened May 14, 2022, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 27/441 and Tally Road, according to the Leesburg Police Department.Investigators said a silver 2019 Lexus driven by 29-year-old Terrance Raghoonauth of Lauderdale Lakes was traveling north in the left lane when it swerved into the right lane and struck a gold 1988 Cadillac sedan driven by 69-year-old Kenny Ray Amdahl of Hubert, North Carolina, in a rear-end collision.After the impact, the Cadillac caught fire. Amdahl was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.Leesburg police said they opened a traffic homicide investigation and worked with the State Attorney’s Office and the Florida Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor in reviewing the crash.Following the investigation, authorities obtained an arrest warrant charging Raghoonauth with vehicular homicide. He was taken into custody on April 26 and booked into the Lake County jail. Raghoonauth is being held on a $25,000 bond.
