On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, around 7:36 a.m., an officer working for the Cape Coral Police Department was parked in a marked patrol vehicle near the 2200 block of Del Prado Boulevard North, keeping an eye on traffic. During that time, the officer spotted a silver and blue Yamaha motorcycle heading southbound.
The rider looked toward the officer and performed a wheelie for about 40 yards. According to Florida State Statute 316.191, performing a stunt like a wheelie on a public roadway is illegal.
The officer followed the motorcyclist, who continued south and looked back several times before slowing down near Del Prado Boulevard North and Diplomat Parkway East. The officer activated his emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop.
The rider, Jose Francisco Parilla Jr. (DOB 03/21/2002), was detained safely and identified with a Florida driver’s license. The officer explained to Jose that he was under arrest for “stunt driving”, a violation of FSS 316.191 (2). Stunt driving is defined as “to perform or engage in any burnouts, doughnuts, drifting, wheelies, or other dangerous motor vehicle activity on a highway, roadway, or parking lot as part of a street takeover.”
Jose Parilla Jr. was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail on the following charges:
–1 count in violation of Florida Statute 316.191(2), Stunt Driving
The motorcycle was towed and placed on a 30-day hold in accordance with the law.
