TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Eight student athletes representing four sports signed grants of aid Wednesday at Leon High School.
Softball players Ash Alexander and Trinity Williams will stay teammates at Wallace, flag football standout Brooke Marshall is off to Texas to play for Our Lady of the Lake University, and NeNe Pierre will play basketball at Coastal Alabama.
Four boys hoopers also signed Wednesday, Alphonza Gammons and DK Williams will play at Delta College, while Termaine Jones and Elijah Knight will play at Florida Gateway and Belmont Abbey respectively. It was a big day for the red and white.
“This is the best day of the year. This is when we put all the positives on display,” said athletic director Riley Bell. “All their hard work, all their commitment and practicing and time and blood, sweat and tears. We get to come together for a moment like this. It’s really been a good afternoon. All these seniors are happy today and we’re proud of them.”
