Florida man plans Alaska visit to complete Uber Eats deliveries in all 50 states

  • April 30, 2026

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A Florida man is planning a trip to Alaska for an unusual reason: delivering food for Uber eats in all 50 states.

“I really enjoy traveling and I was trying to look for something to do that I can do in all 50 states,” said Mike DiMauro in an interview Wednesday with Alaska’s News Source.

Originally from Massachusetts but now living in Orlando, DiMauro said that he came up with the idea after sitting at a traffic light in New Jersey.

“I turned on the app, went online just for giggles. Next thing I know, I had delivery in New Jersey, so I was like, ‘Hmm, this could be something game changer,’” he said.

After learning that drivers could deliver for Uber Eats no matter what state they are in, DiMauro said he came up with a plan to deliver for Uber Eats in all 50 states.

“I’m at 38 plus [Washington] DC right now,” he said. “I’m trying to get the remaining 12 done this year because it’s America’s 250th anniversary, so I’m calling this 50 for 250.”

According to DiMauro, he was able to knock out most of the 38 states during a seven-week long road trip with his parents in 2024, which spanned both the east and west coasts.

“I still have Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Colorado, Alaska, and Hawaii,” he said.

DiMauro is autistic and said he wants to use his mission to help inspire others.

“Driving with autism is my main presentation that I speak about, because there are so many people in this world with autism that cannot drive, and I have been driving for almost 25 years,” he said.

“I got my diagnosis of autism after learning how to drive, so I’m trying to teach people that are on the autism spectrum the ability to drive, to give them pointers and all that.”

He also hopes to raise awareness to the needs of those who are autistic.

“The prices of everything are going up, yet the benefits and services are either being cut back or they’re being eliminated, and people need the services to survive,” he said. “So it’s like trying to pressure our politicians not to cut essential programs for people with disabilities of all ages.”

DiMauro said he’ll be flying to Anchorage and renting a car in order to make his deliveries in the Last Frontier.

“It’s been a pleasure actually doing the Uber Eats deliveries because the fact is that I get to tell people, hey, I’m from Florida, or I’m delivering this from Florida, or I’m delivering this from Orlando,” he said.
