For former Florida Gators anxious to hear their names called by the commissioner during the 2026 NFL Draft, last week’s event delivered some unforgettable moments.

Beyond a simple transition, the selection is validation for a lifetime of labor in the name of football. Development, faith and sacrifice all play out in real time as dreams become reality for these players.

The draft serves as a measuring stick for UF’s football program, but more importantly, a culmination of years of hard work for the prospects. The moments are added to the history of the Orange and Blue and the program’s legacy of producing greatness.

Anticipation, relief, pride, joy. Whether first-round headliners or late-round surprises, each pick represents a story of hope that is shared with family, friends, teammates and coaches who help celebrate the beginning of the next chapter.

Without further ado, we offer some highlights from the draft day experiences of Caleb Banks, Jake Slaughter and Austin Barber below.
