RIVERVIEW, Fla. (Gray News) – A driver nearly hit a child who was boarding a school bus in Florida.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, a a driver illegally passed a school bus that was stopped to pick up a student.
The child was crossing the road to get on the school bus and was nearly hit by the passing car.
“When you ignore a stopped school bus, you are gambling with a child’s life,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “There is no excuse for this behavior. Slow down, stay alert, and stop when the bus stops.”
Authorities said the driver was issued a notice of violation.
