TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A high-octane morning took place at Rickards High School on Wednesday as students packed the stands to watch the school’s first NASCAR boxcar footrace.
Eleven racers suited up and, in front of a roaring crowd, walked to their self-built box cars. After personalized introductions, the wave of the checkered flag, some took it fast, while others enjoyed the scenery.

The loudest roars from the crowd were heard when racers Jaden and Stanley battled it out in the end.
Parents awarded golden trophies to the racers after the heart-pounding race.
