Calling attention to the importance of organ and tissue donation.
April is National Donate Life Month.
Thursday’s event is a way to honor donors for giving back to those in need.
Diana Maupin, the Donation Liaison for Gift of Hope says, “Over the last ten years we’ve had close to eighty donors, tissue donors, here at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. And that’s over a thousand tissues that have been transplanted.”
Flag-raising ceremonies were also held in April at Memorial hospitals in Springfield, Decatur, Taylorville, and Lincoln.
