TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – WCTV’s 10th annual PBJ PLZ! donation drive wrapped up on Thursday!
The month-long drive has raised more than $66,000!
The drive collects jars of peanut butter and jelly as well as monetary donations to help hungry children and their families during the summer months.
PBJ PLZ! is a collaboration among WCTV, Leon County Schools and Second Harvest of the Big Bend.
All month long, Leon County students have been invited to bring jars of peanut butter and jelly to school. Community members joined WCTV at our first-ever PBJ Truck Jam, dropping off donations at Publix and have been donating online.
Together, we have surpassed our $50,000 goal, our $55,000 goal and even our $60,000 goal!
That’s on top of tons of peanut butter and jelly, which will be collected from schools starting next week.
We are so grateful for your generosity, and so glad that together in year 10, we’re going to be able to help more families than ever.
Our final weigh-in is coming up on May 14, and we invite you to tune in to see just how much peanut butter and jelly Leon County Schools students have donated. Donation links will remain active until then, too.
Last year, we collected over nine tons of peanut butter and jelly and more than $42,000 in donations.
Second Harvest drivers will begin picking up bins of peanut butter and jelly from schools in a specially wrapped PBJ PLZ! truck starting in May.
