A man was killed in a crash in Doral early Friday, according to police.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said Doral police responded at around 2:33 a.m. to an “accident with injuries” in the area of Northwest 107th Avenue and Northwest 33rd Street, near the Miami-Dade Correction and Rehabilitation Department.

A man was behind the wheel of the car going northbound on Northwest 107th Avenue when he lost control and struck a tree, authorities said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately revealed.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit took over the investigation as they work to determine the cause of the fatal crash.
