TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The City of Tallahassee is holding three community workshops over the next two months to help residents prepare for the 2026 hurricane season.
The workshops are being held on certain Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m., with doors open at 5 p.m.
The first workshop is on May 12 at ALARM International Church, located at 2532 West Tharpe Street. The second is May 26 at Jake Gaither Community Center, located at 801 Bragg Drive. The final workshop is June 16 at St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral, located at 4784 Thomasville Road.

There is also expected to be a youth component in each workshop with fun and interactive activities to learn how to prepare for disasters.
The workshops are a part of the Plan for Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) program. Residents are expected to hear from local experts on supplies, steps to take and resources.
There is another free PREP workshop on May 5 at Sue Sue McCollum Community Center at Lafayette Park, 501 Ingleside Avenue, starting at 6 p.m. This workshop will detail the city’s PREP guide.
