TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Families across the Big Bend and South Georgia are celebrating new chapters and impressive milestones this college graduation weekend.
Perhaps a new best friend would make the perfect graduation gift!
WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center team up each week to spotlight four adoptable dogs in hopes of helping them find their fur-ever homes faster!
Here are the dogs we are featuring this week:
MEET FRITOS
Sweet Fritos is a social butterfly. She made quick friends at the shelter and has never met a stranger.(WCTV)
Meet Fritos!
This three year old lady is a perfect forty-pound pup.
She is super sweet on the leash and eager to explore by your side.
She’s very social and has never met a stranger.
And even though she was found as a stray, she’s made quick friends at the shelter.
Fritos knows how to share with the other dogs there and would likely get along well with any pups at home.
She loves a good head scratch but maybe not as much as a good treat!

MEET OREO
Oreo loves to explore and enjoys a good head scratch.(WCTV)
Meet Oreo!
This beautiful brown boy is about three years old.
It’s his second stint at the shelter, after getting adopted back in 2023.
But now he’s looking for a fresh start again.
He’s great on a leash and he leaves no stone unturned.
Oreo considers playtime the best part of any day. He could use a big, secure yard.
He’d need to meet any other dog at home before moving in, but he’s housebroken and ready to find his forever family!
Visit him at the shelter this weekend!
MEET KHALEESI
Khaleesi is a lowrider who enjoys using her short legs to go for an adventure! And she likes treats, too!(WCTV)
Meet Khaleesi!
She’s a low rider but high in confidence.
The shelter thinks she’s a corgi border collie mix.
On a walk, her short strides are no problem for her curious spirit.
Khaleesi likes to lead the way, and while she’s great with humans, she probably wants to live at a home where she’s the only pet getting attention.
She’s three years old and appreciates a good head scratch and a nice treat.

MEET BUDDY
Buddy is looking for a running and napping, buddy!(WCTV)
Meet Buddy! And try to keep up!
Buddy has two speeds: full speed and all-out stop.
He is looking for a running buddy, or a fast-walking buddy who will let him be a dog.
A run in the sprinkler, a roll in the dirt and when it’s all over, someone to sprawl out with him in the shade.
Buddy enjoyed taking a breather in the dugout and rolling around to scratch his back.
Buddy is ready to be YOUR buddy. Please visit him at the shelter this weekend!
MEET AND GREET
You can meet these dogs and dozens more awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center. It’s located across from Tom Brown Park at 1125 Easterwood Drive in Tallahassee.
You can walk through the kennels Tuesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and can also visit by appointment the rest of the week from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
