After selling a waterfront estate in Miami last year to The Weeknd for $50 million, Illinois-based real estate investor and former oil-industry executive Steven Lempera is making an even bigger bet on Florida’s luxury market up near Tampa, listing a sprawling compound for $115 million—nearly seven times the $16.7 million he paid for the place in 2021. The Oaks Estate, listed with Eddy Martinez and Roland Ortiz of The R/E Team at ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, is by far the most expensive residential listing in the region.

The 87-acre lakefront spread arrives with a notable pedigree. It was originally developed by RV mogul Don Wallace, founder of Lazydays RV, who designed the residence as a showcase for a car collection that once included a Ferrari 250LM and a McLaren F1 LM—both of which fetched record sums at auction.

The French Normandy–inspired estate sits behind a 36-acre stone-walled perimeter, paired with a 51-acre protected parcel that adds privacy and shields the home from future development. The estate can be reached by helicopter and seaplane, making it convenient to both Miami and Orlando.

The four-story main residence spanning more than 36,000 square feet, with six bedrooms, 12 full bathrooms, and 14 powder rooms. A grand salon with arched ceilings, limestone floors, and 12-foot mahogany French doors opens to a lakeside terrace.

Elsewhere, a gentleman’s lounge with a bar and wine storage sits alongside a private cinema, while a beamed family room with a fireplace overlooks the water. The family kitchen features a La Cornue Château range, Azul Imperiale quartzite, and a full catering kitchen, while the primary suite occupies a private wing with dual baths, custom dressing rooms, and lake-facing lounge areas.

Perks extend well beyond the main house and include a 72-foot saltwater pool, an indoor aquatic facility, a spa and wellness center, a fitness complex, a bowling alley, and a full entertainment level.

Outside, a mile-long jogging trail winds through the grounds, alongside and equestrian facilities comprising a five-acre arena, six-stall barn, paddocks, and horse walker.

The property goes all in for auto enthusiasts. Along with a go-kart track, there’s a 22-car auto gallery with mechanical and paint capabilities, an evolution of Wallace’s original vision. The gallery complex also includes a studio apartment, an office, and a boardroom. A two-bedroom residence for guests or staff and a two-story boathouse with a rooftop terrace complete the property.

The move follows a playbook that has served Lempera well. He acquired the aforementioned Miami estate in 2019 for $27.8 million—roughly a third of its original $68 million ask—before relisting as pandemic-era demand surged and selling it at a huge profit to the “Blinding Lights” hitmaker.
