KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Florida woman was sentenced to just over five years in prison after officials say she traveled to Tennessee with her husband multiple times to have sex with a minor.
The Department of Justice says Kasey Lynn Skaggs, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of interstate travel for the purpose of of engaging in illicit sexual conduct and one count of tampering with a victim to destroy evidence.
Court documents said investigators found from December 2023 to February 2024, Skaggs and her husband, Jeffrey Lee Robertson, traveled across state lines to East Tennessee three times to have sex with a 14-year-old.
Investigators said they found messages from Skaggs and Robertson on the victim’s phone, talking about sexual acts they would do together. There were also messages instructing the victim to destroy evidence of their communication once Skaggs and Robertson believed they had been caught.

In January 2026, Robertson was sentenced to serve 30 years in prison. Once he’s released from prison, he will be on supervised release for life and will be required to register for state sex offender registries and comply with special sex offender conditions.
As for Skaggs, following her prison sentence, she will be on supervised release for 15 years and will also be required to register with state sex offender registries and comply with special sex offender conditions.
