The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office uncovered $40,000, four weapons and multiple drugs after search warrants in both South Tampa and Davis Islands.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Two gang members are facing multiple drug trafficking-related charges after Hillsborough County deputies say they uncovered multiple drugs, weapons and thousands of dollars in cash.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says it began a two-month-long investigation into members of the Vice Lords gang.

In that time, investigators conducted a “buy/bust operation” where they reportedly found 32-year-old Jose Dehoyos delivering two ounces of cocaine to an undercover gang unit detective.

Deputies say they then served two search warrants at homes in South Tampa and Davis Islands, where they found five pounds of cocaine and marijuana, four pistols, $40,000 and multiple prescription pills.

Joshua Dehoyos, 48, was arrested in connection to the warrants.

Both men face multiple charges, including trafficking in cocaine, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful use of a two-way communications device.
