The Tampa Bay Rays look to win nine of their last 10 games and sweep the San Francisco Giants on Sunday.
The Tampa Bay Rays go for the series sweep of the San Francisco Giants at home on Sunday afternoon. This is the first and only series between these interleague foes. The Rays have stifled the Giants’ offense so far in the first two games, limiting San Francisco to just one run in this series so far. The Giants are trying to end a five-game losing streak tonight after getting swept by the struggling Philadelphia Phillies in their last series. San Francisco is now in last place in the NL West with a 13-20 record under first-year head coach Tony Vitello. The Rays have been brilliant at home with a 10-4 record, and they are 20-12 overall. The Rays have won eight of their last nine games. Despite its success, Tampa Bay is still chasing the New York Yankees for first place in the AL East, sitting 1.5 games back. The Rays are the -120 favorites to sweep the series at the Trop today. A lot of that has to do with starting Steven Matz, who is 4-1 with a 4.31 ERA. The Giants will counter with Tyler Mahle, who has the opposite record at 1-4 with a 5.87 ERA.
