FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WWSB) – JetBlue is expanding service from Fort Lauderdale as other airlines move into markets once served by Spirit.
The airline said it is adding 11 destinations from Fort Lauderdale, which had been a major Spirit hub in Florida.
Frontier said it also is adding routes in places where Spirit used to fly.
Spirit Airlines Ends Operations
Both airlines said they are offering special “rescue” fares and customer perks aimed at travelers affected by Spirit’s shutdown.
JetBlue said it is trying to “fill the void” left behind as Spirit stopped operating. The airport in Fort Lauderdale is one place where some Spirit passengers were left stranded.
