A Miami man is facing charges after he allegedly threw multiple items including a dining room table and television off the balcony at an apartment building, authorities said.

Rafael Jorge Gonzalez-Sintes, 60, was arrested Saturday evening on charges of shooting or throwing a deadly missile, culpable negligence, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct, an arrest report said.

According to the report, deputies had responded to the Brownsville Transit Village building at 5185 Northwest 29th Avenue after receiving an anonymous complaint about a man throwing household items off his balcony and onto the roadway, nearly hitting pedestrians and parked cars.

When deputies arrived they found multiple items on the ground including a dining room table, a television and an AT&T antenna, the report said.

Deputies were able to identify where the items came from, apartment 403, and went upstairs and took Gonzalez-Sintes into custody, the report said.

After he was in custody, Gonzalez-Sintes spontaneously said he threw an object off his balcony, the report said.

The report said a deputy had responded to a similar incident involving Gonzalez-Sintes about two weeks earlier in which Gonzalez-Sintes made threats to throw objects off his balcony “at which point he was taken into custody under the Baker Act.”

Gonzalez-Sintes was arrested and booked into jail.
