Post Malone was supposed to play Raymond James Stadium with Jelly Roll on May 29 as part of his Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2.
But the rapper-turned-country star said he needs more time to prepare.
“Looking at the upcoming schedule after Stagecoach (Music Festival), I came to the realization that what we were trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up,” he said in an Instagram story posted on Friday. “Truth is, I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts. We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.”
Several impacted cities, like El Paso and Birmingham, have been canceled outright. Tampa will still get a concert, though — just later in the summer.
The Raymond James Stadium show will now take place on Wednesday, July 8.
Some outlets have speculated that the true reason for the tour shakeup could be low ticket sales, especially following Posty’s shift to the country genre.
