Body found in Tampa retention pond, police say

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)—An investigation is underway after a man’s body was found in a retention pond, the Tampa Police Department announced.

Officers responded Monday to the 2200 block of N. Westshore Blvd regarding a body in the water around 7:51 a.m.

Arriving, officers located a dead adult male and members of the Tampa police dive team recovered the body.

Detectives are currently working to confirm the identity of the man and notify his next of kin.
