FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK)—A jury found Thomas Stein guilty of first-degree felony murder and three counts of attempted robbery with a firearm.

The jury took five hours to decide. Everyone was called back into the courtroom at around 8:30 p.m. with the verdict.

Stein’s family cried behind WINK News reporters, with his mom running out of the courtroom. Christopher Horne’s family—the other suspect in the murder—left and celebrated in the hallway.

At one point, people could hear them yelling while Judge Nick Thompson was talking. From inside, someone could be heard screaming “guilty.”

WINK News crews were in the hallway and saw Horne’s family celebrating after the verdict. When asked for comment, Stein’s attorney declined to speak.

While the jury did find Stein guilty, they could not say with 100% certainty that he was the shooter who killed Miller two years ago. The State Attorney’s Office, the Cape Coral Police Chief and the victim’s families did not want to comment.

Stein’s sentencing is set for July 10. Horne’s sentencing is scheduled for May 19.
