TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – The two University of South Florida graduate students murdered last month will be honored at commencement ceremonies next week, the school announced Tuesday.
A moment of silence will be observed at the beginning of each ceremony to remember USF students Nahida Bristy and Zamil Limon.
During the 9 a.m. doctoral degree ceremony on Friday, May 8, two empty chairs with regalia will be placed on the arena floor to honor Bristy and Limon. Separately, both students also will receive posthumous doctoral degrees.
Bristy and Limon went missing April 16, sparking a weeklong search. Limon’s mutilated body was found April 24 in bags on the Howard Frankland Bridge.

Bristy’s body was found in water April 27 near Interstate 275 and Fourth Street North.
Limon’s roommate, 26-year-old Hisham Abugharbieh, has been charged with their murders. Abugharbieh could get the death penalty if convicted, although prosecutors haven’t yet indicated whether they would seek capital punishment.
Limon and Bristy, both 27-year-old doctoral students from Bangladesh, were considering getting married, a relative said, before they disappeared.
Limon had been last seen at the off-campus complex where he shared an apartment with Abugharbieh and another roommate.
