TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man pleaded guilty to attempted enticement of a minor, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Dawaun Jackson, 40, pleaded guilty to attempted enticement and penalties for registered sex offenders in federal court.
Jackson was arrested as part of ‘Operation Safe Harvest,’ which was aimed at identifying and arresting those who use the internet to target children.

Court documents show that during the November operation, an undercover officer posed as a 15-year-old girl online and posted an ad on a website known for the solicitation of escorts.
Jackson responded to the ad and believed he was talking to a minor, according to court records.
Documents also show he offered the girl money in exchange for sex and arranged to meet her in Tallahassee.

An investigation into Jackson revealed he was a registered sex offender, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Court records show he was put on the registry for lewd or lascivious battery on a minor in 2012.
Jackson faces minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and up to life in prison, followed by up to a lifetime of supervision upon release on the attempted enticement of a minor charge. For the penalties for sex offenders charge, Jackson faces a minimum of 10 years in prison.
Sentencing is scheduled for July.
