A crop of high school student athletes from around west-central Illinois have been recognized for their achievements on the field and in the classroom.
Rotary Club of Jacksonville handed out 28 Scholar-Athlete Awards during an April 30 banquet. The award is given to students for academic, athletic and leadership excellence.
The recipients “exhibit characteristics that will prepare them well for leadership in their communities, in future educational endeavors and in their chosen careers,” club President Kelly Pool said.
