TAMPA, Fla. — USF will host graduation ceremonies and will honor two students who were killed last month.
School President Moez Limayem says the university will give posthumous doctoral degres to Zamil Limon and Nahida Bristy.
The two were fatally stabbed, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. They were both 27 years old.
Hisham Abugharbieh, 26, a roommate of Limon, faces two charges of first-degree murder, among other charges, in connection with the case.
During the doctoral degree ceremony Friday, two empty chairs with regalia will be on the arena floor in honor of the victims.
Moments of silence will be held as well.
The spring 2026 USF class includes recipients of approximately 6,371 bachelor’s, 1,360 master’s and 353 doctoral degrees.
