A 64-year-old woman is facing 11 felony charges in Florida after being accused of intentionally running over a group of ducklings.
Beverly Sasberry was arrested on Thursday, April 30, after she allegedly ran over a group of ducklings “multiple times” with her vehicle in Westside, Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) said in a news release on Facebook.
“A couple watched as a red Honda Accord purposely drove over a group of baby ducklings on Tempest Street on the Westside, turning her vehicle around multiple times to hit them,” police claimed.
Sasberry, 64, allegedly told the couple when they confronted her days later that “she intentionally killed the ducks because she was upset they made a mess in her yard.”

The couple reported the incident to the police and provided them with surveillance footage Sasberry allegedly driving over the ducklings.
The surveillance footage shows the ducklings lying dead in the street as the vehicle is seen heading towards the surviving mother and two other ducklings running away, local outlet 14 News reported.
Sasberry was arrested after being interviewed by the police on April 30. She was charged with 11 counts of cruelty to animals, according to the JSO.

Neighbor Kyle Hutchinson, who witnessed the incident, told Action News JAX, “It was a little after 10 a.m. on Saturday, I see a truck in mainly my neighbor’s yard, coming into mine, driving through the bushes and driving away … there were dead ducks everywhere, and ducks running away, and she turned around and sped off trying to hit them again.”
Hutchinson claimed he confronted Sasberry after the incident and she allegedly told him she was upset that the ducks had left droppings in her backyard, according to Action News JAX. “She just kept saying that she just wants to kill more. It’s literally what she said a few times. ‘I’ll do it again. I’ll do it again,’ ” he claimed.
Hutchinson then filed a police report, per Action News JAX.
The JSO said there were no further updates in the case when contacted by PEOPLE.
