MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Spirit Airlines shutdown has disrupted travel across the country.
Now, a different low-budget airline is swooping in to replace Spirit’s flights in Memphis.
Frontier Airlines is launching nonstop flights from Memphis to Orlando, starting July 5. It replaces Spirit’s former offering.
The flights will run three times a week through mid-September, then twice a week after that. Tickets are on sale now.
Airline experts have said Spirit’s abrupt shutdown will lead to higher prices across the industry. The low-cost carrier’s cheaper prices forced larger airlines to keep ticket costs down.
