FSU alumna earns Tony Award nomination for performance in ‘Two Strangers’ musical

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A former Seminole has earned a Tony Award nomination, putting Florida State University on a national stage.

FSU shared that alumna Christiani Pitts was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the musical, “Two Strangers.”

Pitts earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in music theatre from the FSU School of Theatre in 2015.

FSU says she was actually working with Florida State performers at the school’s senior showcase the night before her nomination was announced.
