Officials say speed appears to be a factor in this crash, but not impairment.

OLDSMAR, Fla. — A 6-year-old girl has died days after a crash in Oldsmar that left three other people injured.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the child died on Wednesday after being sent to the hospital for life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened on Thursday when 27-year-old Jayanna Clark was driving eastbound on Tampa Road in a 2015 Nissan Altima.

Investigators say that as she was approaching the intersection of St. Petersburg Drive, 52-year-old Christy Proctor, who was driving a 2021 Tesla Model 3, was facing westbound in the turn lane on Tampa Road to go south onto St. Petersburg Drive.

Both cars entered the intersection at the same time and crashed in the middle, officials say.

Proctor and Clark were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, while a 4-year-old boy in the car with Clark was receiving treatment for serious injuries. He has since been released from the hospital.

PCSO says the 6-year-old girl was a passenger in the Nissan with Clark and the boy.

Officials say speed appears to be a factor in this crash, but not impairment.

Deputies are continuing to investigate this crash.
