Miami Beach, FL – Three men pleaded guilty in a federal drug trafficking case after authorities seized nearly $28 million worth of cocaine hidden aboard a vessel off the coast of Miami Beach.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, the defendants admitted to conspiracy charges related to importing cocaine into the United States.
Federal prosecutors identified the men as Erasme Catalino Paulino Rodriguez, Joseito Diaz De Oleo, and Ober Alexander Villavicencio Jimenez, all citizens of the Dominican Republic.
Investigators said the men were aboard a 65 foot sport fishing vessel called the M/V Best Bet when it was intercepted by the U.S. Coast Guard near Government Cut outside Miami Beach in December 2025.
After boarding and searching the vessel, authorities allegedly discovered more than 1,000 packages of cocaine concealed onboard.
Federal officials reported the seized narcotics weighed approximately 1,694 kilograms, equal to more than 3,700 pounds of cocaine.
Prosecutors estimated the street value of the drugs at roughly $28 million.
According to court records, the defendants admitted they traveled from South Florida to a meeting point near the Turks and Caicos Islands, where cocaine was allegedly transferred from another vessel before being hidden aboard the boat for transport back to Miami.
Authorities described the operation as one of the largest cocaine seizures handled by a Coast Guard small boat station in decades.
The defendants now face mandatory minimum prison sentences of 10 years, with potential maximum penalties including life imprisonment.

The recall is linked to a seasoning provided by a third-party supplier that used dry milk powder from California Dairies, which recently became the subject of a separate recall due to possible contamination.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>According to a company statement posted with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled snack mixes. The athletes allege they were abused by Strauss under the guise of medical exams required to play for Ohio State.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>The legal effort, which has spanned eight years, \u003ca href=\”https://www.sportico.com/leagues/college-sports/2026/ohio-state-football-sex-abuse-richard-strauss-1234892273/\” target=\”_blank\”>accuses Ohio State of failing to protect students from Strauss\u003c/a>, who worked as a team physician and associate director of sports medicine from 1978 to 1996. An independent investigation found that Strauss sexually abused at least 177 male athletes and students, while coaches and administrators did not act to stop him.
