Triopia’s Mylee Tracy recorded the 800th strikeout of her career as the Trojans completed a two-game sweep of Jacksonville teams with a 12-2 win over Jacksonville High School on Thursday.
Triopia beat Routt 17-0 on Wednesday to lock up its first Western Illinois Valley Conference championship and the No. 1 seed heading into next week’s WIVC Tournament. The Trojans are now 22-0, just five wins away from tying the school record for wins, which they set last year.
Tracy pitched a one-hitter against Jacksonville, striking out 11 and walking one. She went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBIs. Mallory Rohn also had three hits, including a double. She drove in three runs.
Sophya Ogden added two hits for the Trojans.
Maggie Gerard led off the game with a double for Jacksonville’s only hit.
Kenzie Law took the loss, giving up 12 runs (six earned) on nine hits. Grayce Chambers shut out the Trojans on two hits over the last two innings.
Jacksonville slipped to 9-11.
BEARDSTOWN 15, BUSHNELL-PRAIRIE CITY 0
Khloe Kearns pitched a four-inning perfect game and went 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run as the Tigers rolled past Bushnell-Prairie City on Thursday.
Kearns, who recorded the 400th strikeout of her career in a game against Triopia earlier this week, added to that total on Thursday, striking out 11 of the 12 batters she faced.
Kylynn Maltby hit a pair of home runs and drove in five runs for Beardstown.
The Tigers improved to 17-3.
