TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – This fall, the Chiles indoor volleyball team won their second of back-to-back state titles. The majority of those girls play beach volleyball, and that team is now a win away from a state title, as the Timberwolves swept Lourdes Academy 5-0 in the Class 2A state semifinals Friday morning.
“We knew everyone here would be tough competition,” said senior Natalie Gibson. “Obviously we have a lot of competition for how much we’ve been dominating on our home courts, but we knew we had to come in with the mindset that anybody could beat us and we really took care of business.”
“I’m excited for the kids, our coaches and our administration,” added head coach Angela Hultquist. “Everyone is supportive. I love these girls. They go out there and they love each other and they play hard.”
The Timberwolves will face Merritt Island Saturday morning at 9:00 in the Class 2A state championship.
