ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — An employee of Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines died while on the job at the Orlando International Airport on Thursday, the company said.
The employee has not been publicly identified, and it’s unclear what led to their death. In a statement, Delta said operations were paused at Delta’s Orlando station while investigators looked into the incident.
“We are focused on extending our full support to family and taking care of our Orlando team during this difficult time,” the company said. “We are working with local authorities as a full investigation gets underway to determine what occurred.”
One flight was canceled due to the death. All customers have since been reaccommodated on other flights, according to Delta.

In 2024, two Delta employees died and another was injured in a tire explosion at an Atlanta maintenance facility. The company settled a lawsuit filed by one of the workers’ families, but the terms have not been made public.
