FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — The City of Fort Myers is hosting its annual Hurricane Preparedness Expo, offering residents a chance to ask questions, make a plan and prepare before the next storm.
The expo runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the Caloosa Sound Convention Center in downtown Fort Myers, next to the Luminary Hotel. The event is free and family-friendly, featuring food trucks, raffle prizes and city vehicles for families to check out.
The city’s emergency management team will be on-site, along with various vendors, preparedness resources and the WINK Weather Authority team. Attendees can get tips on what to do before a storm, learn how to stay informed during an emergency and ask questions directly to people who handle hurricane planning.

The city is encouraging people to download the Fort Myers EM mobile app to receive emergency information when it matters most.
One attendee shared their experience with past storms.
“I want to look into the preparedness for a hurricane, and we’ve been through four or five so far; we survived,” they said. “Everything was fine, but it was scary.”
The city wants people to come with questions and leave with a plan. Whether this is someone’s first hurricane season or not, the message from events like this is clear: don’t wait for a warning cone to start preparing.
