LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – A motorcyclist was arrested late Saturday after allegedly leading Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers on a high-speed pursuit through Lee County.
The incident began around 11:44 p.m. Saturday when troopers clocked a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling 91 mph in a 55 mph zone on State Road 82 near 40th Street SW, according to FHP.
After passing a trooper, the motorcycle accelerated to 102 mph and turned onto Alabama Road, troopers said.
Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the rider refused to stop and continued driving recklessly. FHP said the motorcyclist ran stop signs, drove on a sidewalk and traveled the wrong way while fleeing.

Because of the rider’s “extreme reckless driving behavior,” troopers ended the active pursuit and continued monitoring the motorcycle from a distance while the Lee County Sheriff’s Office aviation unit tracked it from the air, according to FHP.
The motorcycle later traveled south on Interstate 75, exited at Alico Road and continued at high speeds while running red lights.
Troopers eventually located the motorcycle at an apartment complex off Tuscany Park Drive. As troopers approached, the rider allegedly attempted to flee again and collided with the front right side of an FHP Dodge Charger.
The rider was identified as Adam Troy O’Dell, 27, according to FHP. He suffered minor injuries, was taken to a local hospital for treatment and later arrested.
O’Dell faces charges of reckless driving, felony fleeing and eluding, and extreme dangerous speeds.
